Pedal to the metal

Austin Morrison turned in one of the most impressive single seasons in Northwest Whitfield history last season. Josh Robinson hopes the senior linebacker doesn’t come close to his school-record 211 tackles this year – with one caveat.

“With all respect to Austin, we don’t need anyone getting 200 tackles,” Robinson said. “Of course, if we play 15 games, I won’t mind it.”

Morrison, due to injuries on the defensive line and a fast-paced Northwest offense that often failed to control the clock, was forced to use his athletic 6-foot-3, 205-pound body to make more plays than the Bruins wanted. This year there are a couple of reasons he won’t have to do that.
