Don’t forget: Fossil fuels are finite!

One aspect of the fossil fuel/climate debate is being completely ignored by everyone. This essential fact is lost in the smoke and flames generated by the fury of arguments pro and con. I am amazed by the public blindness that this shows.

It is an inarguable fact that all fossil fuels share one characteristic: It takes millions of years for Mother Nature to replenish her stockpile! Hey folks, pay attention; when we’ve burned all of the coal, oil and gas – they are gone! Gone. Forever.

For those of you not chemists nor engineers; every bit of plastic and a host of other common products all come from hydrocarbon feedstocks: coal, oil, or gas.

Yeah, but we don’t have to worry. It will be our great-great- grandchildren who will pay the bill for our greedy ignorance.
