Bobby R. Barnes
Harrison
Regional Sales Manager
Bobby Barnes played football and baseball in high school. Golf didn’t seem to fit for him back then.
But about 12 years ago, as a 40-year-old man, and after watching other company salesmen return from a golf course with a sale completed, Barnes figured he’d better improve in his game of sales – the game of golf.
“Customers relax when you get them away from a work environment,” said Barnes, who works for the Great Lakes Case and Cabinets company.
“I bring customers out here,” he said. “If you get them away from the work environment, they’re more willing to talk.
“After 18 holes on a gorgeous course in a state park, talk always ends up about business at the end of the day, and it usually ends up on the 19th hole when we’re talking business.
“I write a lot of business on the golf course.”
