Whether you’re chasing ghosts or looking for a quaint town preserved through time, Robertson County is the place to visit.
Once known as a big-time tobacco and whiskey producing area, it is now known mostly for the infamous Bell Witch who haunted the Bell family – some of whom still live there today – in what became the most documented haunting in American history. To this day, the town celebrates the legacy of the famed witch with a festival that takes place each September.
But a good ghost story isn’t all Robertson has to offer. From the Taste of the Country USA festival each June to the Turning of the Pig roasting celebration every July 3 to the Trash and Treasure world’s longest yard sale, residents find unique ways to celebrate their county, which boasts some of the most pristine farmland in the country.
