Corker, colleagues beholden to NRA
Sen. Bob Corker showed his craven servitude to the NRA by voting against legislation that would block individuals on the FBI terrorist watch list from buying firearms. Two days later, with stunning hypocrisy, he blasted President Obama for failing to articulate a strategy to protect us from more terrorist attacks.
I know I’d feel safer if Corker and his GOP colleagues would throw off their NRA shackles and vote for universal background checks, a ban on firearms intended for soldiers, as well as a ban on gun sales to suspected terrorists. Failing that, perhaps Corker should return to Chattanooga and help shore up our crumbling waterfront once touted as the former mayor’s centerpiece accomplishment.
