Dayton report
The Flyers have solidified themselves as one of the top teams in one of the top basketball conferences in the country, and their road win over Vanderbilt has positioned them for a spot in the Top 25. They’re at their best at home, having won 26 consecutive games at UD Arena, the seventh-longest such streak in the country.
Key matchup
The Mocs suffered a blow when senior forward Casey Jones was injured in Friday’s practice. The 6-foot-5 Jones leads UTC in scoring, rebounding and assists and seems always to make a key play – be it a basket or a rebound – in crunch time. Most of the offense was run through him, so McCall said the offense will be a little more open and free-flowing without him. Will that be enough to offset the loss of experience – Jones’ biggest of many key attributes – on the road against the formidable Flyers?
