Joke has no place in Times Free Press
The joke titled “Lunatics” in last week’s Chattanooga Now was insensitive, offensive, and definitely unfunny.
Surely a joke about cancer, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, AIDs or the developmentally challenged would never have made it past your editor. It looks like the mentally ill are still fair game, even in these enlightened times!
Please help fight stigma, and focus on the real story of the mentally ill in our community – what services are available to them and what more is needed. No more jokes!
