Two officers from the Soddy-Daisy Police Department were recently commended for saving a life, and one was recognized for simultaneously arresting a wanted fugitive.

On Oct. 21, Officer Jeremy Wright responded to a call that there was an unconscious man in a house on Pine Street within city limits, said Lt. Jeff Gann, who recognized the officers at the City Commission meeting Nov. 19.

When Wright arrived on the scene he noticed a white male walking toward the house. Wright recognized the man as Seth Miller from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office’s fugitive warrant list, said Gann.

Wright immediately placed Miller under arrest on felony warrants of armed robbery and theft of a motor vehicle, according to Gann.

Wright and Officer Jed Krider then entered the home, where they successfully resuscitated the unconscious man by performing CPR.

This is the second time both officers have been recognized for saving a life while on duty, noted Chief Phil Hamrick.
