Dave Rawlings Machine will bring the world tour supporting new record “Nashville Obsolete” to Chattanooga’s Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 26.

The highly anticipated second album from Acony Records highlights the brilliant musicianship of Dave Rawlings and Gillian Welch on lead vocals and guitar, Paul Kowert (Punch Brothers) on bass and Willie Watson on vocals and guitar, with guest appearances from Brittany Haas (fiddle) and Jordan Tice (mandolin).

Recorded on analog tape at Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville, the album features seven original compositions written by Welch and Rawlings.

“Nashville Obsolete” is the seventh studio album on which Welch and Rawlings have collaborated. Their two-decade-long creative partnership also includes Welch’s 2011 Grammy-nominated album “The Harrow and the Harvest,” the 2009 Dave Rawlings Machine release “A Friend of a Friend,” which Mojo magazine hailed as “the best Americana debut of the year,” and Welch’s 2001 masterpiece, “Time (The Revelator).”

In September, Rawlings and Welch added yet another accolade to their career accomplishments with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting from the Americana Music Association.

Their rousing live show has earned them praise as “one of the hottest string bands on the planet” (SF Weekly).
