McCallie jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back in capturing the Times Free Press Best of Preps Basketball Tournament championship Tuesdaynight at Chattanooga State.
The Blue Tornado lead by seven after one period and pushed the lead to 15 at the half as a tight defense and deep bench took its toll on the shorthanded Purple Pounders. Mac Hunt led 12 McCallie players in the scoring column with 12 points, with Max Shulman and Seth Clark adding nine each.
Terron Hayes topped Central (9-1) with 17 points.
