The Region 2-A/AA wrestling championship could go to any one of three or four teams.
“I don’t know if we’re the team to beat or not,” said Garrick Hall, coach of the defending champion Hixson Wildcats. “There are three or four teams that could be front-runners on any given day. This region is a dogfight
“In this region kids get better as the season goes along. You might beat a kid early in the season and he comes back and beats you in the region.”
The other teams Hall considers title contenders are Red Bank, East Ridge, Notre Dame and possibly Central. He expects a leadership struggle from the outset of the two-day tournament, which begins at 6 p.m. Friday at Signal Mountain.
