Obama unwilling as fire marshal
In 1967, Israel was attacked suddenly. Our commander in chief recognized a fire when he saw one and sent the U.S. fire department — an immediate airlift of modern arms to Israel. Israel won against all odds. The war lasted six days. The world needs a commander in chief who is willing to play fire marshal, as we had in 1967. ISIS has goaded the Christian Kurds by literally crucifying and beheading some and Jordan by burning one of its pilots alive. But our commander in chief sees no fire. Hopefully, his procrastination here won’t match his procrastination on the Keystone pipeline. Obama has guaranteed no American troops on the ground. OK, but now he has highly motivated mercenaries — the Kurds and the Jordanians. All we have to do as arm them.

How dare well-paid oil workers strike?
Isn’t it great how gas prices have tumbled in the past few months, and all of a sudden they have starting rising once again? This is due to oil workers going on strike at most U.S. refineries, and among their demands are doubling their hourly rate. So long cheap oil prices if there is not some sanity gained by the union. Most of these folks make eight to 10 times the minimum wage rate, and yet they want more. Go figure! Cheaper oil prices help the little guy even more than the wealthy. I guess greed is good!
