An arrest has been made in the Jan. 24 hit and run death of a Rossville, Ga., man.

An officer at the Walker County Jail said late tonight that Charles Magin is charged with vehicular homicide in the death of Michael Lewis Burns. Magin is in custody at the jail.

Magin is accused of hitting the 57 year-old Burns while the victim was driving his motorized wheelchair on the shoulder of Indian Avenue in Rossville.

Following the accident, Georgia State Patrol Corp. A.B. Gideon said the driver stopped momentarily, then continued south on Indian Avenue in a white or silver car that looked like an Acura.

That car has been the subject of a weeks-long search.

An officer at the Walker County Jail said Georgia State Patrol made the arrest.

No bond has been set; Magin is expected to appear before a magistrate judge sometime this weekend.
