Adrian King was so certain of his future football home that he decided not to wait any longer to make it known.
King, a 5-foot-10, 186-pound cornerback from Alabama’s Robert E. Lee High School, committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Saturday evening during his official visit to the campus.
“The bond that I have with the coaching staff and other players here just made me realize this is where I wanted to be,” King said. “It felt like home as soon as I got here. The coaches have built a good relationship with me and my mom and are always checking on my grades and other things besides football.
“I like their style of defense. I think I’ll fit in with that and hopefully come in and get on the field early. I had other visits scheduled, but I’m probably just going to go ahead and cancel those now.”
King chose UTC over offers from Texas Southern, Murray State, Southern University and Alabama State. He is the Mocs’ ninth commitment for this year’s signing class, including three transfers from other universities. He’s also the third defensive back commitment, joining East Hamilton’s Martez Durrah, who could play corner or safety, and Fulton’s K.J. Roper, who could play safety or grow into an outside linebacker.
