Award-winning stage and screen actor Ben Vereen will headline the 66th annual Southeastern Theatre Conference, which returns to Chattanooga March 4-8.
SETC is the largest regional theater convention in America, drawing over 4,000 actors, professional company representatives, design and technical professionals, educators, commercial exhibitors, community theater producers and student actors to its workshops. The convention also features youth, high school and community theater festivals which will be held at locations around the city and open to the public.
Vereen, who won a Tony Award in 1973 for his performance in “Pippin,” then received international acclaim and an Emmy nomination for his work in the 1977 TV miniseries “Roots,” has been named the 2015 SETC Distinguished Career Award recipient.
Other featured speakers will be Kristin Linklater, master voice and speech teacher, and Paata Tsikurishvili, physical theater innovator.
Registration information and the convention program can be found online at setc.org.
