CapitalMark Bank & Trust boosted its fourth quarter earnings by 27 percent over a year ago to $7.4 million, or 92 cents per share.
The Chattanooga-based banking firm said Thursday its results were aided last year by additional banker teams in both the Chattanooga and Knoxville markets and by redeploying assets from lower yielding securities into higher yielding loans during the year.
“CapitalMark had a record setting year for 2014, fueled by exceptional loan and non-interest bearing deposit growth,” said R. Craig Holley, the bank’s CEO. “Loans grew 23 percent year-over-year while non-interest bearing deposits grew 28 percent over the same period.”
CapitalMark ended 2014 with $930 million in total assets.
