Firefighters quickly extinguished a duplex fire this afternoon at 1204 Gadd Road, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department official.
Four other fire companies assisted in putting out the blaze, Battalion Chief Charles Patton said. The Red Cross, Hamilton County EMS, Chattanooga police and EPB also provided assistance on the scene.
Patton said the fire damage was contained to a laundry room, but the rest of the duplex had smoke and water damage.
Four adults were reportedly in the duplex at the time of the fire, but got out without injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
