Nondiscrimination ordinance passes first City Council vote unanimously

Chattanooga City Council unanimously voted tonight to approve a controversial nondiscrimination ordinance for gay, lesbian and transgender employees.

The ordinance was passed with an added amendment that prohibits any employees from losing their job or being demoted for identifying their religious belief on the topic.
