The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletic department announced a contract extension for women’s basketball coach Jim Foster on Tuesday afternoon.
Two years were added to his contract, which also includes performance bonuses for winning the Southern Conference regular-season or tournament championships and coach of the year honors.
The assistant coaches also will benefit, as performance bonuses are in place for making and advancing in the NCAA tournament. The team went to the NCAA tournament in both seasons under Foster so far.
“I’m happy to be in a great place. a great city with great people,” Foster said in a release. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of this year’s schedule. I can’t wait to get started.”
Foster is 58-8 in his two seasons as the Mocs’ head coach, leading them to two SoCon championships. The highlight of the 2014-15 season was a pair of home victories over top-10 teams Stanford and Tennessee.
