More manpower is needed for rescue efforts at the Pocket Wilderness at Mowbray Mountain, where a 26-year-old woman has a possible leg fracture.
Amy Maxwell, spokeswoman for Hamilton County Emergency Services, said the woman was injured at the “Green Hole,” about one to two miles from the trail entrance.

Mowbray Mountain and several emergency agencies are working to bring her out, authorities said.

She said the retrieval will probably take several hours because of the rugged terrain.

Agencies assisting the Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department include the Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department, Sale Creek VFD, Chattanooga – Hamilton County Rescue for rehab and Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services for rope rescue and ATVs.

Maxwell said additional agencies responding now include Flat Top VFD, Lewis Chapel VFD, Dunlap Fire Department, Hamilton County STARS. Red Bank Fire Department and Dallas Bay VFD are on standby for calls in the valley and on Mowbray Mountain.
