Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger is reacting to a last-minute budget amendment by the county commission last week.
At 1 p.m. Monday, Coppinger will hold a news conference on the south steps of the Hamilton County Courthouse “to discuss the important actions he will be taking regarding the fiscal year 2015-16 budget that was amended by the Hamilton County Commission,” according to Coppinger’s spokesman Mike Dunne.
Before passing the 2016 budget, the commission added $900,000 from the general fund balance to reinstate discretionary spending for the commission. Coppinger left the near $1 million set aside because he said there was no revenue source to include it.
Dunne did not say what that reaction will be.
