Are hearing loss lawsuits next?

Readers of the TFP and other media have recently been inundated with ads for hearing aids. TV ads for professional audiology clinics are abundant, as are ads for hearing devices and services. It appears that the baby boomer and millennial generations are victims of years of sound pollution that has left many with hearing loss.

I heard a prediction recently that this will be the next massive class action lawsuit by lawyers that specialize in such. Lawsuits will be filed against manufacturers of all types of musical devices, from ear phones, automobile sound systems, surround sound systems, movie theaters and yes musical stage performances. Imagine the impact of an ad that says: “If you have lost your hearing and now need a hearing aid, call the law firm of — . You may be awarded compensation without going to court.” All you have to prove is that you were harmed by audio sound equipment that went beyond the limits of the human ear, and nobody warned you.

Now hear this!
