With the success of its Thanksgiving and Christmas takeout meals, Mount Vernon Restaurant is adding Easter dinner dishes to its holiday takeout service. Orders may be placed now through Wednesday, April 1.

Mount Vernon owner Jeff Messinger says the restaurant’s Easter To-Go Menu includes three entrees: brown-sugar-glazed ham (either whole or sliced by the pound), roast leg of lamb au jus served with mint sauce, and sliced roast sirloin of beef au jus.

Available vegetables/side dishes are Mediterranean orzo pasta, macaroni and cheese, creamy Parmesan rice, Southern-style green beans, scalloped potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, fresh turnip greens, fresh kale salad, mashed potatoes, honey-glazed carrots and broccoli souffle.

Desserts to-go include Mount Vernon favorites such as amaretto cream pie, French silk pie and Southern pecan pie, as well as three new additions: coconut layer cake, triple-layer chocolate cake and bread pudding with vanilla rum sauce. Yeast rolls will be sold by the dozen.

Prices range from $19.95 to $22.95 for sides up to roughly $100 to $125 for a full dinner to feed a family of four to six.

Orders must be picked up at the restaurant, located at 3535 Broad St., on Saturday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. When callers place their order, they will be given a number which they must know to pick up their food.

Place orders by calling 423-266-6591, or visit the restaurant’s website, mymtvernon.com, and click the Easter To-Go Menu link.
