A 34-year-old woman showed up at the Chattanooga Social Security Administration offices armed with hammers, a rubber mallet, a pry bar, a fire extinguisher, a fake pistol and several sharpened wooden handles, according to Chattanooga police.
The woman, Lisa Carroll, had tucked the tools and weapons into her belt and tried to enter the social security offices at 1290 Perimeter Drive around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
When police arrived, officers ordered Carroll to drop her weapons five times – at Taser-point – but the woman did not comply.
Police then grabbed her and attempted to handcuff her, according to the affidavit. Carroll kneed one officer in the groin during the struggle, “before being placed in cuffs and stripped of her weapon assortment,” according to the affidavit.
After Carroll was cuffed, police found she was carrying a fake 9mm Beretta pistol.
She was charged with assault on police and was booked into the Hamilton County Jail.
