Within the last year, Chattanooga has leapt into the growing trampoline park trend. Two gyms, outfitted with wall-to-wall trampolines, have opened within the last year — sending Chattanoogans flying into a new form of entertainment and exercise.
“It’s just a way to exercise in a really fun environment,” said Venita Jensen, events coordinator at the Jump Park on Chattanooga’s Southside.
The Jump Park includes 18,000 square feet of trampolines, a trampoline dodgeball court, a foam pit and an upstairs full of table games like ping pong, shuffleboard and darts. Jensen said the gym has become a hub for everything from birthday parties and dodgeball tournaments for sororities and fraternities to group workouts and therapy for people with special needs.
Across town in the Hamilton Place mall area is Superfly Trampoline Park, a 30,000-square-foot building half-full with trampolines. The center also features an aerial obstacle course and trapeze where customers can hone their skills above giant foam pits.
“[Jump parks] are just great because you can come jump with the kids or get a workout in every season, no matter what the weather,” Jensen said.
