Chase hires Abney as underwriter

Chase bank has hired Brandon Abney as a senior underwriter to support the bank's ongoing expansion efforts in East Tennessee.

Abney is a part of the Commercial Banking team, serving business clients in the Chattanooga, Knoxville and the Tri-Cities markets. He has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently at First Tennessee Bank in Chattanooga.

Abney graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor of arts in economics, as well as a master of business administration with a focus in finance. He is active in the community through leadership positions at Christ United Methodist Church; the United Way, where he is an executive board member of emerging leaders; with Tennessee Achieves, where he is a mentor; and vice president of the UTC alumni board.

LifeCare salutes Jill Reynolds

Jill Reynolds, executive secretary for Life Care Centers of America's operations department, was named Administrative Professional of the Year.

"Jill does a tremendous job," said Bart Walker, senior vice president of operations and Reynolds' supervisor. "She is truly the glue that holds us all together."

Reynolds has served Life Care for more than six years. She was praised for her ability to anticipate and provide for needs, as well as her organizational skills, creativity and dedication. Part of her responsibilities entails planning team-building activities for the company's annual management meeting, attended by more than 250 associates from around the country.

"I take the work that I do very seriously," said Reynolds, who shared that her parents instilled a strong work ethic in her. "I love what we do, and I love what we stand for."

Arthur Lewis opens State Farm office

Arthur Lewis has opened a new State Farm Insurance office at 844 South Germantown Road in East Ridge at the corner of Ringgold Road.

Lewis is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a graduate of Ohio State University.

"Our goal is to be a one-stop shop for all insurance and financial needs in the Chattanooga area. We will be servicing the state of Georgia, as well," Lewis said.

Krystal appoints chief people officer

Tom Murrill has joined the Krystal Co., as its new chief people officer.

Murrill is responsible for all aspects of human resources, leadership and support for more than 250 company restaurants and 6,000 employees.

Most recently, Murrill served as the vice president of human resources for Silver Airlines and then Western Global Airlines.

He spent more than a decade at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. as chief human resources officer and spent several years as the senior vice president of human resources for the Steak & Shake Co.
