Drug busts across Dekalb County net meth bounty

Police caught eight alleged drug offenders across DeKalb County on Thursday in locales ranging from the woods to the car wash.

* They found Mary Elizabeth Pence, 27, of Henagar, walking in the woods behind a house on Wooten Lane after officers had received tips about drug use at the house. They searched Pence's purse and found marijuana, according to a news release.

Police charged Pence with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.

* Police found Bradley Dan Blackwell, 40, of Fyffe, at his home after receiving a tip to check out the home on County Road 342 in Tenbroeck.

Blackwell admitted that he had recently smoked marijuana, according to police, and a subsequent search uncovered methamphetamine.

Police arrested Blackwell and charged him with unlawful possession of controlled substances and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
