David Goldsmith scored in the 88th minute, and the Michigan Bucks advanced to the Steinbrecher Cup title game with a 1-0 victory over the New York Greek Americans in Friday’s early semifinal at Finley Stadium.
The Bucks (4-1) will face Cup host Chattanooga FC (6-1) at 7:30 tonight.
“I don’t think we played great,” Bucks coach Demir Muftari said. “It’s a credit to them [New York]; they were a really good team and hard to play. They took us out of our rhythm and kept us from doing a couple of things we usually like to do, so we’re fortunate to see a result.
“The sign of a good team is when you don’t play your best and still come out with something. We’re happy for that, and we’re excited to play in the final tomorrow.”
