Refinery in north makes much sense
You recently asked if the pipeline from Canada should be built. My opposition is not environmental but economic and maybe common sense.
This oil will go down to the refineries on the Gulf Coast, the refineries that are affected by hurricanes and many other shutdowns. Then the refined product must be shipped back to Chicago, St. Louis, etc.
To me that makes no sense. Build a new refinery up north and serve the cities there.
Is it just me or does that solution make sense?

Poverty fault of industries
There was an inventor who invented a fuel-efficient, streamlined vehicle. A company which owned similar vehicles invested in the project and said it would provide the fuel.
After many months, the inventor poured the fuel into the vehicle, but it ran poorly. Doubling his efforts, he tried again – poured the fuel but gained the same results. Redoubling his efforts gained the same results. Finally, suspecting sabotage, the inventor questioned the fuel.
Children are the fuel of education, but educating them is made more difficult to nearly impossible while fighting an uphill battle against poverty. Income inequality and economically segregating families into crime-ridden areas makes it impossible to escape the mental and physical trap imposed by poverty.
The downward spiral of income inequality over the last 35 years is the responsibility of U.S. industry that has made record profits and shares in the quality of the workforce by supporting schools and the quality of life of its employees through a living wage.
U.S. industry wanted cheap labor and in turn cheapened the social fabric of our lives. Fifty-one percent of all U.S. children get free lunches at school.

Refrain from using four-letter words
Recently an article in the paper said that one of our presidential candidates says he is going to spice up his speeches with occasional cuss words. Please don’t.
A person who doesn’t have the vocabulary to express themselves without using cuss words or profanity is only showing their ignorance.
I don’t believe any of our candidates is that ignorant.

Time to join a praying candidate
Praise the Lord! We have a political candidate who reads his Bible and prays at least twice a day. Just what America needs!
Why waste time criticizing each other when we could be praying. God is in charge, anyway. I am a voter and a former Bible teacher. This paper once called me a feisty (high-spirited) little ol’ lady. That is still true.
I am also a wife, mom and grandmom. I have lived long enough (87 years) to watch America decline spiritually. I hope to live to see revival. This might be our last chance before Jesus returns.
Shall we join this candidate and pray?
