The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team picked up a commitment from Brian Marshall, a 6-foot-2, 290-pound offensive lineman from Marietta High School in Georgia.

Marshall becomes the team’s sixth commitment for the 2016 signing class. He chose the Mocs over offers from Jacksonville State and Valdosta State, as well as interest from Appalachian State and Army.

He’s a three-year starter on both sides of the trenches for the Blue Devils that has played every position on the offensive line. He projects to play either center or guard for the Mocs.

“Brian is very athletic and he bends extremely well,” Marietta head coach Scott Burton said. “He’s been blessed with athleticism not consistent with someone his size. I’ve never met anybody that has said a negative word about Brian; he does anything and everything with a smile on his face.”

Burton coached at Richmond in 2008 when the Spiders won the Football Championship Subdivision national title. UTC head coach Russ Huesman was the defensive coordinator on that team, while wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Will Healy was a quarterback.
