University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's basketball head coach Matt McCall said earlier this week that the team was "optimistic" senior guard Dee Oldham was going to be able to play in the Nov. 6 exhibition opener against the Scots.

That optimism rang true Thursday as Oldham, who spent the first three seasons of his college career at UT-Martin, was cleared to play immediately for the Mocs.

The 6-foot-4 Oldham transferred to UTC in December of 2014. Due to the timing of his transfer, he was initially only going to be able to play the second semester of the Mocs' season, which would have started the second week of December, but now has been cleared to play in the exhibition opener against the Scots.

A versatile player who can play four positions depending on the lineup, Oldham averaged 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 66 career games with the Skyhawks.
