THE MATCHUP
UTC’s offensive line against the defensive front seven of the Gamecocks. This matchup was controlled by Jacksonville State last year, which is part of the reason the Mocs didn’t reach positive yards offensively until the second half. The JSU front four features transfers from Alabama and Auburn, but UTC’s offensive line has improved as well, with that group now a year older and potentially better with the return of guard Synjen Herren from a torn ACL suffered before the 2014 season opener and the addition of Georgia transfer Josh Cardiello.
