Editor’s Note: Barry Courter has a 27-year-old son who is a college graduate and a 22-year-old daughter who is a college senior. Each week he poses a question he wishes they would ask.
Q: Dad, you’ve done about a billion of these questions and answers over the years. Has there been a theme or singular idea?
A: You exaggerate. It only seems like a billion. If there has been a recurring theme, it’s that kids who learn to handle their own business just seem to do better in life. Alongside that idea is that parents should let their kids fail on their own.
