Capital murder and first-degree kidnapping warrants have been issued for an Alabama man accused of kidnapping his estranged wife and killing her parents Sunday in Cherokee County, Ala.

Authorities are seeking 30-year-old Jeffrey Alan Wilcox Jr. in a double homicide in the Tennala community and for the alleged kidnapping of his wife, Chasidy Wilcox, 30, according to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver.

The double slaying victims are Chasidy Wilcox’s stepfather and mother, Daniel Andrews and Latitia B. Andrews, Shaver said in a statement.

Jeffrey Wilcox arrived at the Andrews’ home early Sunday afternoon with his three children in tow. Two other children were at the Andrews’ home as well, but they fled to safety once the incident started to become dangerous, according to investigators. Officers later found all the children unharmed.

Chief investigator Josh Summerford said Monday Jeffrey Wilcox had no history of run-ins with law enforcement in Cherokee County.

“He is not somebody I would say was on our criminal radar,” Summerford said. He said authorities believe Chasidy Wilcox is endangered and still with Jeffrey Wilcox.

And now Jeffrey Wilcox is on a national watch list.

Summerford said the U.S. Marshal’s Office, the FBI, Alabama and local authorities have teamed up on the search for Jeffrey Wilcox and Chasidy Wilcox.

Jeffrey Wilcox was last known to be driving a red 2011 Chevrolet Silverado with Calhoun County, Ala., license plate number 11FR476. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, authorities said.

Anyone with information on Jeffrey Wilcox’s whereabouts or anyone who sees the truck or Chasidy Wilcox is asked to call 911, the sheriff’s office tip line at 256-927-9999 or the regular office line at 256-927-3365.
