Delta Air Lines travelers at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport were scrambling this morning to catch flights after a massive computer problem in the carrier’s system.

Some fliers were promised later flights, many of them to Atlanta, so they were told to be ready for delays.

Early morning flights from Chattanooga to Atlanta were canceled. And even after Delta restarted its computer system, flights from Chattanooga were delayed up to two hours for the rest of the morning, with delays expected into the afternoon.

One traveler, Chris Payne, was one of the affected passengers at the Chattanooga airport this morning. Payne said he was flying to El Paso, Texas, for work and he wouldn’t have been able to make the connecting flight in Atlanta to Texas.

Delta rebooked him on another flight tomorrow.
