KNOXVILLE – Mike DeBord can assure you Tennessee’s football offense in its second term under his control won’t be a carbon copy from his debut season.
As for how the Volunteers might look different in year two, the offensive coordinator isn’t spilling any beans.
“I’ve got to protect our guys and our players and our program and everything else and can’t talk too much about that,” DeBord said last week.
“I will just say that every year teams look at that. Every team I’ve ever been around or coached with, you always evaluate what you’ve done, what you’ve done well, maybe how you might put a little wrinkle in here or there or new plays you’re going to add. We’ve done the same thing that way.”
Tennessee finished third in the Southeastern Conference with a 35-point scoring average in 2015, but the Vols were just seventh in total offense as their point total received a boost from a return game that produced six touchdowns.
