Tony Breazeale has dreamed of opening a dance studio since he was 12 years old.
Now, the entrepreneur and former competitive dancer is realizing his dream with Infinity Dance Connection in East Ridge.
The longtime dancer and passionate choreographer wants to do more than just teach dance at his new studio – he wants to change the public perception of dancing, which he said keeps many boys away from the competitive sport.
“Some of my best friends in the world I met through dance as a child,” said Breazeale. “I learned life lessons of respect, the need for perseverance and leadership through dance. I want to do the same for others.”
Breazeale began his dream of teaching earlier this year, offering after-school classes at Snow Hill Elementary School in Ooltewah after getting approval from the county.
With proceeds from his 30 students there benefiting the school, he said, it was a terrific start.
Now with his own location, Breazeale said he is excited to expand his offerings to include everything from ballroom and ballet to line dance and hip-hop, even Zumba.
He also works with competitive dancers of all ages.
“My passion has always been choreography and putting my passion for dancing into others,” he said. “This [studio] really is a dream come true.”
Breazeale’s dance studio is hosting an open house Saturday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
