A Harrison man was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft over $60,000 after he allegedly stole close to $200,000 from his great-grandmother over the course of two years.

Bobbie Stover told police she added her great-grandson, Colby Oliver, 24, to her bank accounts in March of 2013 to help her in her finances after her husband passed away, according to court records.

She said Oliver stole $157,990.60 from her savings account and an additional $31,000 from her checking account.

Stover said she did not give Oliver permission to remove that money from her accounts but he changed the mailing address on the savings account to his own address in the 6600 block of Jackson Avenue so she wouldn’t notice the money going missing.

Once she noticed the theft, Stover obtained bank records from First Tennessee Bank and filed the report in June.

In addition to his theft charge, Oliver is also facing a charge of willful abuse/neglect of an impaired adult. He is next scheduled to appear in court before General Sessions Judge Clarence Shattuck on September 6th.
