I-24 re-opens in Marion County after semi fire closes interstate

UPDATE: The accident has been cleared.


A semi-truck caught fire on Interstate 24 eastbound in Marion County, causing the interstate to close this morning, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at mile marker 149 and was reported at 4:51 a.m. Part of the interstate re-opened shortly after 7 a.m.

There was no word about injuries or the cause of the fire at this time.
