A ‘mashing’ success

Let’s talk about holiday food trends. For example, mashups, or the coming-together of two or more classic recipes. The most famous mash-up may be turducken, a recipe in which a chicken is stuffed into a duck stuffed into a turkey.

Mashups are more than just fresh takes on old favorites; they also often also have great names. Turducken aside, over the past few years we’ve had the cronut (a croissant-doughnut hybrid), the brookie (a cross between a brownie and a cookie) and – perhaps the most fun to say – the cherpumple, featuring layers of cherry, pumpkin and apple pie all baked inside a cake.

They all sound delicious, while each also sounds like a bit of a challenge. What recipes would you like to blend into one? What name would you give it?

I know how I’ll be spending my time off this holiday.
