Name: Kathy Clemmons
Occupation: Stylist at Split Ends, where she started two months ago after spending 12 years as a stylist at Cheerific Hair Styles. “It was the first salon I ever worked at, and I needed a change,” she said.
Why Split Ends? “I like the environment, the location and the people,” Clemmons said of the salon, which is owned by Ann Askew, the only other stylist at the salon. “I run into a lot of people I grew up with.”
Hometown: Born and raised on Signal Mountain, Clemmons is married to fellow Signal Mountain native and childhood playmate Lt. Claude Clemmons, a firefighter with the Signal Mountain Fire Department for the past 30 years.
Services offered: Cuts; highlights, including ombré and balayage; color; perms; chemical processing; and facial waxing. Men, women and children are welcome.
Why she loves her job: “It’s a way of being creative, and it makes me happy to see people’s faces afterward,” said Clemmons. ” And I love meeting people.”
