The Dalton Police Department reports a crash has damaged the red light control system at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and I-75 and traffic is backing up.
Police spokesman Bruce Frazier said traffic is down to one lane in both directions.
He said it will take several hours to repair the signal and suggest drivers avoid the area if at all possible.
