EDITOR’S NOTE: Barry Courter has a 26-year-old son who is a college graduate and a 22-year-old daughter who is a college senior. Each week he poses a question he wishes they would ask.

Q: What are some mistakes college graduates make when job hunting?

A: Not asking the right – or enough – questions. A lot of people take the approach that the interview is a one-way endeavor. You are also auditioning the company to see if the fit is right for you. Figure out the things that are important to you such as advancement opportunities, office structure, hierarchy, vacation time, hours, etc.
