Work is underway on a new restaurant in a high-profile building on Chattanooga’s North Shore.
The Full Moon American Burger and Bar is going up on the first-floor corner of North Market Street and Cherokee Boulevard in the Bridgeview condominiums.
Situated next to a SunTrust Bank branch, workers are readying the inside of the new eatery, though an official at the construction site declined to immediately comment on the restaurant.
Chattanooga Realtor Darlene Brown said the Full Moon will complete the Bridgeview building. She said the building is now full, though a penthouse is coming on the market.
The restaurant will service tourists who are downtown as well as others, including residents of the building, she said.
“It’s a wonderful addition,” Brown said.
Also, the restaurant continues a line of eateries and retail shops that sit on Frazier Avenue just across North Market.
In addition, a new apartment building is going up on Cherokee next to the Bridgeview that will offer ground-floor commercial space.
Vision Hospitality Group, Chattanooga’s biggest hotel developer, is venturing into the city’s hot downtown apartment market with that five-story, 84-unit building near Renaissance Park.
“There’s great demand, from everything we’re hearing, for housing,” Mitch Patel, Vision’s chief executive officer, said recently. “The timing couldn’t be better.”
The apartment project is pegged by Vision officials at costing “north of $10 million.” Rents could range from $900 to $1,600 a month, they said.
A promotional YouTube video online about the Full Moon said it offers “more bar seating than any other bar in town, not to mention the largest bar space overall.”
“We’re a family-friendly burger restaurant, as well, serving up all of your favorites with fast and friendly service,” it said.
