Cleveland police said a man was shot in the shoulder Saturday evening and a suspect is in custody.
Police spokeswoman Evie West said officers were called to the 1600 block of King Edward Avenue just after 7 p.m. where they found a wounded man identified as Jesus Mendez.
He told them he’d been shot by Wilmer Perez, 33. Police found Perez within a few minutes at 752 E. 12th St. and took him into custody on a charge of attempted second-degree homicide.
Mendez was taken to Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga.
