TAYLORSVILLE, Ga. – Authorities are trying to track down a man who they say hid inside a woman’s van and then sexually assaulted her on the side of a highway in Taylorsville.
Multiple media outlets report a 34-year-old woman told investigators that she was kidnapped and raped by a man Thursday evening who began strangling her with her seatbelt and forced her to pull off the highway.
Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jonathan Rogers says the man had hid in the backseat of the victim’s unlocked van while the woman had gone inside a Taylorsville store.
Investigators say they are struggling to find leads on the suspect, who escaped after the attack. The victim described her attacker as a large, white man with dark, tanned skin and a scruffy beard.
