Mammoth Solomon Kindley commits to Georgia

Solomon Kindley is a really big commitment for Georgia’s football program, and he used to be bigger.

Kindley isn’t a five-star talent like a couple of his fellow Bulldogs commitments, quarterback Jacob Eason and tight end Isaac Nauta. He’s just big, with the offensive lineman from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Fla., standing 6-foot-5 and weighing anywhere from 335 to 345 pounds after once knocking on the door of 400.

The Florida Times-Union recently capsuled Kindley as a “massive interior lineman who can play both sides of the ball. He has shed 46 pounds over the last three seasons and become stronger physically. He has the ability to play tackle or inside at either guard position, although the most natural projection for him in college is at guard.”

Kindley visited Athens this past weekend, committing to the Bulldogs via Twitter on Sunday. He is a consensus three-star prospect, with ESPN ranking him the nation’s No. 40 guard prospect and 247Sports.com tabbing him the No. 87 tackle prospect.

Georgia has 16 commitments for its 2016 class, the first for new coach Kirby Smart, including three from offensive linemen.

As of Sunday evening, the Bulldogs had the nation’s No. 7 class of commitments, according to ESPN and 247Sports.com. They were ranked 10th by Scout.com and 15th by Rivals.com.
