Alabama will hold its A-Day spring football game in Bryant-Denny Stadium on April 16, starting at 2 p.m. Eastern time.

A-Day again will serve as the Crimson Tide’s 15th and final spring practice. Admission will be free.

Replacing quarterback Jake Coker and Heisman Trophy-winning tailback Derrick Henry are the biggest questions entering Nick Saban’s 10th season.

Alabama leads the nation in spring-game attendance since Saban’s arrival in 2007 with an average of 81,503 fans per game. The 2007 A-Day event drew a capacity crowd of 92,138 to Bryant-Denny before its most recent expansion, with the 2011 audience of 92,310 setting a new standard for the school.

No hiring rush

Saban still has a defensive staff position to fill but told reporters Tuesday at the Senior Bowl in Mobile that he is in no hurry.

“We’re recruiting right now, and it’s not a very good time to be hiring people and messing up somebody else’s recruiting,” Saban said. “It’s not really going to help ours that much, so we’ll wait until after recruiting is over.”

Tide tidbits

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey injured his toe in the national-championship win over Clemson and is in a cast for another couple of weeks. Saban said cornerback Tony Brown is back on the team but is facing future suspensions. Saban on the NFL decisions made by his players: “I thought the two guys who should have left did.”
