Three physicians participating in TMA leadership program
Dr. Justin Calvert, Dr. Jacob Dowden and Dr. Chetan Shah are among 20 doctors from across the state chosen for the inaugural class of the Leadership Lab training program.
The Tennessee Medical Association is delivering new leadership training programs to help physicians and health-care organizations adapt to emerging team-based environments, value-based reimbursement and the increasing focus on quality and efficiency in health-care delivery.
This year, the former TMA Physician Leadership College expanded and was repackaged with two new courses under the brand of the John Ingram Institute for Physician Leadership: an intensive leadership retreat and the Physician Leadership Lab.
The multi-month Leadership Lab is a partnership between the Tennessee Medical Association and the Tennessee Medical Education Fund Inc. It is a mix of classes and online webinars. Each participant will implement an improvement project in his or her own practice as part of the course.
