KNOXVILLE – Tennessee’s dual-threat quarterback may become a dual-sport athlete this offseason.
Josh Dobbs is considering playing baseball for the Volunteers this spring, and Tennessee baseball coach Dave Serrano said Friday the quarterback has worked out twice with his team.
“Josh Dobbs has been working out with our guys,” Serrano said Friday during a previously scheduled news conference. “He’s a fabulous young man. I’ve known Josh since he’s been here. He has a baseball background coming out of high school.
“I truly understand where his commitment lies to this university. Coach (Butch) Jones and myself and Josh have been in constant communication about any affiliation that he may or may not have with this program.
“That’s where I’m going to leave it for now.”
